Western Australia
Visit Australia’s largest state, encompassing a third of this great nation! Western Australia has something to offer everyone. Often boasting that Western Australia offers the World’s best beaches, but there is so much more to discover. The wine and food experiences are truly exceptional with not only the famous Margaret River region, two hours drive south of the Capital City of Perth, but also the Swan Valley Region at just a 30-minute drive or one-hour meandering river cruise from Perth city. Take a stroll through Kings Park, just a short walk from the city core. Incredible views over the city and foreshore of the Swan River. Explore the botanical gardens in Kings Park where you will see plants from all over Western Australia on display. Pay your respects at the ANZAC Memorial or simply enjoy the natural bushland surroundings in the middle of the city. The West Australian outback is like none other with its rugged remote coast lines that meet the outback! Gorges, Waterfalls, wildlife and friendly “Sandgropers” (West Australians) everywhere you turn.
At just a 25-minute train ride from Perth, you can peruse the markets of Fremantle – a premier tourist market that’s been around for over 100 years! – for unique finds. Discover art and photography to indigenous products and apparel and enjoy the market’s energetic food court with quirky dishes and live performances.
You can explore some unique terrain while visiting the state such as The Pinnacles, where thousands of bizarre rock formations, found in Nambung National Park, appear to rise from the sand, or in Hyden see incredible Wave Rock, a 15-metre high granite cliff that is shaped like an enormous ocean wave! These experiences are ‘Instagram-worthy’ and therefore must be seen up close to capture their extravagance! The wildflowers – between June and November of each year – are also a remarkable sight to see. Be sure to catch these colourful blooms – with over 12,000 species – along Australia’s Coral Coast and around 60% of the wildflowers are only found in Western Australia!
For a great island getaway, we recommend Rottnest Island where you can meet the quokka, a species not found anywhere else on earth. The tiny marsupials – related to wallabies – are found all over the island and, without any fear, will approach visitors! Be sure to have your camera ready to take photos of these adorable island residents!
A popular holiday spot, Broome is rich in history and offers guests a variety of holiday resorts, bed and breakfasts and campsites not far from the area’s soft, white-sand beaches. Cable Beach in particular is a draw for its warm, shallow water and breathtaking sunsets.
