Discover India's Golden Triangle and Ranthambore National Park

This northern India adventure starts in Delhi where you’ll see Jama Masjid, Qutub Minar and the Humayun Tomb.  In Agra visit the world-famous Taj Mahal as well as Agra Fort & Fatehpur Sikri.  Ranthambore is one of the largest national parks in northern India that is known for its Tiger population but also is a sanctuary for a variety of other wildlife such as leopard, cats, elephants, water buffalo and many more. Jaipur ‘The Pink City’ is famous for its colorful culture, forts, palaces, and lakes and as the old city that is painted pink.  You will visit City Palace, Jantar Mantar Observatory and the Hawa Mahal.

India's Culture and Wildlife - from Delhi to Delhi

8 Day Adventure

Day 1: Arrive Delhi, India

On arrival into Delhi Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel.  The rest of your day is at leisure. Delhi is the capital and key gateway to India that is a blend of the modern and cultural heritage that includes exotic cuisine, rich heritage, bustling marketplaces, grand architecture and an array of experiences for the senses.

Day 2: Delhi Sightseeing

Spend the day seeing Old and New Delhi on a guided sightseeing tour. Drive past Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India with a courtyard that can hold approximately 25,000 worshippers. Your rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk, the busiest market in Old Delhi is an unforgettable experience…noisy, chaotic and uniquely India. 

Drive past the Red Fort which was the residence for the Mughal royal family. Visit Rajghat, the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi where he was cremated in 1948.  Visit Humayun’s Tomb, commissioned by Humayun’s wife in 1562 this was the first garden tomb built in India where the Persian architect used red sandstone on a large scale. 

Day 3: Delhi to Agra & The Taj Mahal

Travel by road to Agra today. On arrival visit the Red Fort, which was commissioned in 1565 by Akbar. This beautiful yet forbidding structure is a fine example of Mughal architecture.  In the afternoon, visit the world-famous Taj Mahal, a mausoleum built as a symbol of an Emperors devotion to his wife. This ivory marble architectural marvel took thousands of workers over 21 years to complete. Distance travelled 204km / Approx 4.5 hours.

Day 4: Agra to Ranthambore

Spend the day travelling by road to Ranthambhore National Park. The scenery in this area changes dramatically from gentle and steep slopes of the Vindhyas to the sharp and conical hills of the Aravali. The tiger is not the only attraction at Ranthambhore. A variety of birds including owlets, the ubiquitous langur (monkey), leopard, caracal, hyena, jackal, jungle cat, marsh crocodiles, wild boar, bears and various species of deer are also found here. Distance travelled 310km / Approx 6.5 hours.

Day 5: Ranthambore National Park

Today you will spend the morning and afternoon in Ranthambore in an open top truck wildlife jungle safari drives. This famous national park in south-eastern Rajasthan has a dry subtropical climate with three main seasons: summer, winter and monsoon. The hottest months are March to June, this is when you may see most animals as they search for water. Here you may also see beautiful jungle, ruins, Ranthambore Fort, lakes, many species of birds, deer and if you are lucky, a glimpse of a tiger!

Day 6: Ranthambore to Jaipur

Travel by road from Ranthambore to Jaipur today.  On arrival in Jaipur, also known as ‘The Pink City’ because of the colour of its buildings, you will have the remainder of the day at leisure to explore Rajasthans largest city. Distance travelled 160km / Approx 4 hours.

Day 7: Jaipur Sightseeing

See the incredible sights of Jaipur today on a guided tour. Visit Amber Fort, a classic, romantic Rajasthani fort Palace. The rugged, time-ravaged walls of the Fort may not look beautiful from the outside but the interior is ornate and decorated with precious stones and mirrors.  Stop to look at Hawa Mahal ‘The Palace of Winds’ on the edge of City Palace.  This grand ancient large red and pink sandstone structure is the tallest building without foundations. 

This afternoon, visit to the Maharaja’s City Palace, the former Royal residence that has been partially converted to a museum. Visit the Jantar Mantar, the largest stone and marble crafted observatory in the world that is situated near the gate of the city palace and has 17 large instruments, many still in working condition.

Day 8: Jaipur to Delhi

Your journey ends today as you travel by road from Jaipur to Delhi today, where you will be dropped at Delhi Airport for your onward flight. Distance travelled 265km / Approx 6 hours.
