Day 1: Arrive Adelaide, South Australia
Welcome to Adelaide, the capital of South Australia. Check in to your Adelaide hotel where you will stay for 6 nights.
Day 2: Adelaide – Local Flavours
One of the cities vibrant hubs is Adelaide Central Market. Since 1869, this has been a haven of premium food and wine products and second home to chefs and food lovers. Enjoy a sensory and interactive gourmet walking tour with a local foodie expert visiting stallholders, tasting samples from the multicultural community and clean and green produce harvested from local farms and oceans. Enjoy the exciting buzz of the market this morning.
Day 3: Adelaide – Culture
Most of today is at your leisure to discover Adelaide. We have included a walking tour to explore the heart of Adelaide (Tarntanya) through a First Nations perspective, walking and learning about the wonderful and tragic colonial history of the state’s capital. You will visit prominent structures of power within the CBD, discussing South Australia’s history. Walk together in the spirit of harmony and reconciliation as you learn about the significance of these locations to Kaurna culture.
Tonight we have included one of Adelaide’s special signature food and wine experiences in the Southern Hemisphere’s largest open-air cellar. Enjoy a 4-course dining experience with perfectly curated wines and exclusive cellar access. The Sommelier is dedicated to complementing each dish with the perfect wine selection, tailored to your desired theme. Whether you have a preference for exploring a specific wine varietal, delving into a particular region, or simply let our experts’ surprise you with a culinary journey. The cellar’s private dining area provides an intimate and elegant ambience.
Day 4: Kangaroo Island – Wildlife
Rise early and travel to Cape Jervis in the picturesque Fleurieu Peninsula to board the ferry to Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island. Spend the day exploring South Australia’s premier nature-based tourism destination. Visit Seal Bay Conservation Park for a guided beach walk amongst a colony of rare Australian sea lions. A delicious two course lunch will follow your Seal Bay Conservation Park visit. Travel to the western part of the Island and Flinders Chase National Park where you may see echidnas, wallabies, reptiles or koalas. See the rugged coastline from walks around Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch where a boardwalk takes you down a rugged cliff face to reveal the spectacular rock archway, a natural nursery and safe haven for playful Long-nosed Fur Seals. Finish the day by visiting the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park to feed kangaroos and get up close to the Kangaroo Island Koalas. Return to Penneshaw for your ferry and coach transfer back to Adelaide arriving late evening.
Day 5: Adelaide
Today is completely at your leisure to explore more of Adelaide at your own pace.
Day 6: Barossa Valley – Food & Wine
The world-renowned wine country is a must see for wine lovers. Two wine regions make up the Barossa: Eden Valley with amazing Riesling and cool climate wines and Barossa Valley, home to some of the world’s best Shiraz as well as Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mataro, Semillon, and Chardonnay. The Shiraz vineyards are some of the oldest in the world dating back to 1842.
Spend the day touring the wineries of the Barossa Valley with an expert guide. Enjoy landscapes covered in grapes and greenery and taste the best wines of the region. Exquisite cellar door experiences capture the essence of what makes this one of the world’s greatest wine producing regions. Taste an extensive range of wines, listen to unique stories and learn about everything wine and wine making. For lunch, enjoy local foods on a delicious regional platter.
Look out for Kangaroos, and Emu’s and marvel at the changing landscape as you approach the Barossa Valley. Visit 4 wineries tasting award-winning wines and the historic country town of Tanunda, Menglers Hill lookout and enjoy a scenic drive through Seppeltsfield to round off your perfect Barossa adventure.
Day 7: Depart Adelaide, South Australia
Your time in South Australia concludes today after you check out of your hotel.
