Day 1: Arrive Adelaide, South Australia

Welcome to Adelaide, the capital of South Australia. Check in to your Adelaide hotel where you will stay for 6 nights.

Day 2: Adelaide – Local Food

One of the cities vibrant hubs is Adelaide Central Market. Since 1869, this has been a haven of premium food and wine products and second home to chefs and food lovers. Enjoy a sensory and interactive gourmet walking tour with a local foodie expert visiting stallholders, tasting samples from the multicultural community and clean and green produce harvested from local farms and oceans. Enjoy the exciting buzz of the market this morning.

Day 3: Adelaide – Art & Culture

Most of today is at your leisure to discover Adelaide.  We have included an introduction to Aboriginal art.  Engage in local arts and culture in a 2 -hour guided workshop and introduction to Aboriginal Art class. Your First Nations guide shares the history of Kaurna art and symbols, before you begin creating your own personalised piece.

Day 4: Kangaroo Island – Wildlife

Rise early and travel to Cape Jervis in the picturesque Fleurieu Peninsula to board the ferry to Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island. Spend the day exploring South Australia’s premier nature-based tourism destination. Visit Seal Bay Conservation Park for a guided beach walk amongst a colony of rare Australian sea lions. A delicious two course lunch will follow your Seal Bay Conservation Park visit. Travel to the western part of the Island and Flinders Chase National Park where you may see echidnas, wallabies, reptiles or koalas. See the rugged coastline from walks around Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch where a boardwalk takes you down a rugged cliff face to reveal the spectacular rock archway, a natural nursery and safe haven for playful Long-nosed Fur Seals. Finish the day by visiting the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park to feed kangaroos and get up close to the Kangaroo Island Koalas. Return to Penneshaw for your ferry and coach transfer back to Adelaide arriving late evening.

Day 5: Adelaide

Today is completely at your leisure to explore more of Adelaide at your own pace.

Day 6: Barossa Valley – Food & Wine

The world-renowned wine country is a must see for wine lovers.  Two wine regions make up the Barossa: Eden Valley with amazing Riesling and cool climate wines and Barossa Valley, home to some of the world’s best Shiraz as well as Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mataro, Semillon, and Chardonnay. The Shiraz vineyards are some of the oldest in the world dating back to 1842. Enjoy guided wine tasting of award-winning wines from up to four wineries. Barossa also has a long relationship with fortified wines with many cellar doors offering outstanding tawny port! A delicious lunch with choice of meal and a glass of wine is included.
