Sample Bali Itinerary (Subject to Change)

Day 1:  Arrive Bali, Indonesia

Welcome to Indonesia.  On arrival in Bali, you will be met  at Denpasar Airport and transferred to Sanur, a stretch of beach along the southeast coast of the island.  This is a popular choice for visitors looking for a peaceful and scenic getaway.  Your resort is located at the southern end overlooking the beach and is surrounded by tropical gardens.

Days 2-3: Sanur Beach & Southern Bali

Spend your first couple of days recalibrating and exploring your local area.  Sanur is a charming seaside town with a beach that stretches for approximately 5km.  The seafront promenade is fringed by lush green landscaped grounds of resorts and there is also plenty of shops, wooden fishing boats, grant old villas and also looks across the water to Nusa Penida. It is a nice balance between easily accessible for exploring other parts of the island and a great place to relax.

Day 4: Lembongan Island

Today’s adventure involves an exciting catamaran journey across the Badung Strait to Nusa Lembongan. This full-day cruise includes snorkelling, a banana boat road, a village tour and a delicious buffet lunch. Enjoy fantastic exploration of the coral reefs and view abundant exotic fish in a glass-bottom boat, followed by relaxation at Beach Club. Swim in the fresh water, lagoon pool or the crystal-clear waters of Mushroom Bay.

Day 5: Sanur

We have included a choice of Denpasar culinary adventure for you, choose from one of the following options: Option 1: Daytime Denpasar history and food –  explore the capital city of Bali. originally a centre of the Badung kingdom that was conquered by the Dutch in 1906. Today Denpasar is a World Heritage City to preserve cultural traditions – one of which is food. See the old city and learn about its history which is intertwined with culinary themes.  Start by sampling excellent Balinese coffee in one of the oldest coffee shops, followed by a variety of signature local delicacies in six different venues. The whole experience is enhanced with stories about local culture delivered by a professional guide. Just bring an inquisitive mind and an empty stomach and we will take you on the ultimate food excursion that will leave you inspired and satisfied! Option 2: Nighttime Denpasar street food tour – experience the evening atmosphere of Denpasar and Balinese culture at night, the hectic trading district while tasting various legendary dishes. This tour will let you explore Denpasar to taste various culinary delights and Balinese snacks, while meeting locals at a traditional market.

Day 9: Sanur to Ubud

Travel inland today and transfer to the town of Ubud in the central foothills of Bali is surrounded by rainforest and terraced rice paddies dotted with Hindu temples and shrines.  This thriving centre for traditional and contemporary Balinese arts is renowned as a hub for art lovers and creatives

Days 10-13: Ubud

You have plenty of time at leisure in Ubud to enjoy your luxury hillside retreat. Some of the best things to do include exploring ancient temples, royal palaces, green hillsides and rice terraces. This Balinese town and surrounding area is a treasure trove of cultural landmarks, popular local attractions also include the Money Forest, Elephant Cave, Ubud Royal Palace, local Art market and local galleries.

One day during your Ubud stay we have included an excursion to explore the art and nature of Bali. The day starts with a Barong and Kris Dance performance depicting the eternal struggle between good (Barong) and evil (Rangda), ending with a scene where the Kris dancers fall into a trance and try to kill the demon Rangda. Visit Celuk, a centre of silver craft and then Mas, which is known for its fine woodcarvings. See the holy spring of Tirta Empul that is surrounded by a large shrine to honour the God Indra and there are bathing pools that are believed to have strong curative powers. Stop at Kintamani for lunch with breathtaking views over Danau Batur lake before driving through Tegallalang with its rice fields and coconut trees. You will also stop at one of Ubud’s most prominent art galleries and Tohpati, known for its batik products.

Day 14: Depart Bali, Indonesia

Today you farewell tropical Bali and transfer from Ubud to Denpasar Airport for your onward journey (flight not included).
