6 Day Adventure

Day 1: Arrive Bali, Indonesia

Upon arrival at Ngurah Rai International Airport, you will be met by your driver and guide and transferred to your hotel in Sanur where you will overnight (journey time is approximately 30-45 minutes).  The rest of your day is at leisure.

Day 2: Sanur (South Bali) – Ubud

Transfer from Sanur and Ubud, with some sightseeing along the way including many cultural stops. The day starts with a visit to Tohpati, known for its batik, then Celuk, the centre for exquisite silver works and then Mas, famous for fine wood carvings. Arrive in Ubud, the cultural heart of Bali and home to many galleries. In Ubud you will visit the Agung Rai Museum of Art that houses a collection of paintings by Balinese, Indonesian and foreign artists in classic Balinese and contemporary styles. Test your bargaining skills at Ubud Art Market before visiting Ubud Palace (also known as Puri Saren Palace) that was built in the early 1800’s.  Here you may choose to also watch a traditional dance here (dance show optional, additional cost). Check in at your Ubud hotel and the the rest of your day is at leisure.

Day 3: Ubud – Candidasa (East Coast)

Explore the highlights of Ubud today. Begin with a visit to Goa Gajah the Elephant Cave, that has a history back to the 11th century. The origins of the cave are uncertain but one myth claims it was created from a fingernail of the legendary giant Kebo Iwa. Continue east to Kertha Gosa, the ‘Hall of Justice’ which was effectively the supreme court of the Klungkung Kingdom. Here you can see examples of the Klungkung style of painting and
architecture on impressive ceiling murals. Stop at Kusamba, a fishing village that also produces salt and is home to colourful outriggers lined up along the shoreline. Drive along the coastal road to Goa Lawah, a holy cavern that is home to  thousands of bats. Finally, we explore the traditional village of Tenganan before overnighting in Candidasa.

Day 4: Candidasa – Pemuteran (North Bali)

Travel from Candidasa to Pemuteran while sightseeing along the way. Visit the Taman Tirta Gangga ‘Water Palace’ which has pools and ornamental ponds that are a reminder of the Balinese Rajah’s golden days. Travel north-west and stop in Putung to admire the panoramic views over the eastern bay. Continue driving along country roads lined with terraced rice fields, to Besakih Temple on the slope of Mount Agung. This is the most sacred Balinese temple and it is known as the ‘mother temple of Bali.’ The final stop of the day is Kintamani, which has breath-taking views over the lake Danau Batur. Travel towards the north coast to Pemuteran, a quiet coastal village in the remote corner of northern Bali known for some of the best diving and snorkelling where you will stay for two nights.

Day 5: Pemuteran

Today is at your leisure.  You may choose to relax, or take an optional snorkelling or diving excursion (additional cost) to Menjangan Island (Deer Island) that is a short boat right from the main island and features seven world-class dive. This is home to one of the most spectacular coral reefs in Bali, you can dive to 150m to explore the magnificent coral gardens and dramatic reef walls and see a vast range of marine life from sea fans, pygmy seahorses and vivid gorgonians, to schools of snapper and reef sharks. Visibility is usually excellent, ranging from 15-50m.
