Day 6: Modiriki Island
Modriki (pronounced ‘Mon-driki’) is a pristine little haven. The sand is vividly white, and the water is the clearest blue you can imagine. The island was made famous in year 2000 when ‘Cast Away’, the Hollywood block-buster movie staring Tom Hanks was released. Modriki is the island at which the movie was filmed, and although Tom’s character just wanted to escape Modriki, the last thing you’ll want to do is leave!
With a Blue Lagoon Cruise, you can go ashore and explore the deserted island. You’ll probably find you’ll be snapping a lot of photos too as this lovely island sure is photogenic! Great snorkelling spots are situated around the island, and our crew will take you on a long boat to the best spots.
Day 7: Soso Bay
In Soso Bay you get the opportunity to visit the chiefly village of Soso where you will be guided around by one of our Fijian crew members. You will get to meet the locals and learn about the local customs of the indigenous people of Fiji and attend and church service.
Day 8: Naukacuvu Island
This area is well known for its fantastic snorkelling by day. At night we set anchor on the eastern side of the island where you will get to see the colour changes that the suset brings. After dinner (on a clear night) head up onto the Sky Deck with a night cap in hand to see what the stars above look like with little or no light pollution.
Day 9: Yalobi Bay
Yalobi Village is located on the picturesque Waya Island’s most beautiful bay – Yalobi Bay – the southernmost island in the Yasawa’s and the most mountainous. These mountains tend to get topped by clouds, which brings moisture to the area making it far greener than other western Fijian Islands, which are typically quite dry. Tall mountains surround the deep teal blue water in the bay, rising dramatically behind the small palm-covered village onshore. Anchored here for the night the best way to see Yalobi is to stay long enough to watch the changing light of day on the mountains.
Not far from Yalobi Bay is the site we use for snorkelling with reef sharks (at an ocean reef). Our crew get in the water with you and stay at your side for the duration of this not to be missed activity.
Day 10: Nanuya Lailai
Watch as the crew position the vessel right up to the beach and tie her off to the coconut trees. You’ll head ashore for happy hour and canapés. A very special night is ahead with traditional Lovo meal cooked underground and dinner on the beach.
Day 11: Sawa-I-Lau Island
Most of the day is at leisure at Blue Lagoon. Spend the morning on a guided island walk, visit an island style cake shop and shell market. Participate in Fijian activities including; basket weaving or a guided snorkelling safari. Lunch is on board while cruising north, to the Sawa-I-Lau Caves.
Day 12: Drawaqa Island
Spend time on this glorious beach here on Drawaqa Island which is alongside a marine reserve for spectacular snorkelling all year round. From May to October each year, you can also experience the manta rays that feed in the channel just off the beach. This area is also one of our main dive spots for Blue Lagoon Cruise. With amazing coral gardens situated just off the coastline, it is amongst the finest in Fiji and one not to be missed for keen divers.
Day 13: Port Denarau – Disembark
Enjoy breakfast on board as you cruise back to Port Denarau. Back at port, you’ll be serenaded with the traditional Isa Lei farewell song by the crew.
You will be picked up at the pier and taken to your hotel where you will check in to your hotel for 1 night. The balance of your day is at leisure.
Day 14: Depart
You will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home… why not stay longer?
