Sample Itinerary (Subject to change):

Day 1: Depart Canada

Depart Canada today.  You will cross the international dateline today and ‘lose’ a day (don’t worry, you will get this back on the way home).

Day 3: Arrive Nadi, Fiji Islands

On arrival in Fiji, you will be met transferred just 25min north to your resort at Vuda Point, on the west coast of Fiji’s main island Viti Levu where you will stay for 3 nights. The balance of your day is at leisure.

Day 4: Vuda Point, Lautoka

Enjoy a day adjusting to ‘island time’ and enjoying your charming beachside resort. This small owner-operated resort blends lush tropical landscapes with an open air feel. You may want to take a kayak to nearby ‘Left Foot Island’ or play volleyball. Facing west, this is an ideal location to catch sea breezes and magic tropical sunsets over the Mamanuca Islands.

Day 5: Vuda Point to Port Denarau

Transfer from Vuda Point south to Port Denarau where you will join your boutique cruise onboard M.V. Fiji Princess for 7 nights, departing at approximately 2.00pm.

Days 6-11: Fiji Islands Cruising

Your cruise itinerary is flexible and subject to change but will include the Mamanuca and Yasawa island groups off the west coast of Fiji’s main island, Viti Levu. Sample cruise itinerary:

Modiriki Island – (pronounced ‘Mon-driki’) is a tiny pristine haven, with white sand and clear blue waters. Made famous in 2000 as the backdrop for the movie ‘Castaway’ starring Tom Hanks.

Soso Bay – Step ashore and swim or wander along the beach before or after breakfast. Sea conditions permitting, there may be an opportunity to swim with reef sharks and then visit to the chiefly village of Soso, an exceptional authentic example of a Fijian Island village.

Naukacuvu Island – Sunday is a day of rest in Fiji. After breakfast attend a village church service, then cruise south to the Maukacucu and Narara Islands as you enjoy a traditional Sunday roast lunch. Join the chef for a cooking demonstration on how to make the traditional dish Kokoda.

Yalobi Bay – As you arrive at the Sacred Islands, you may think you are lost in paradise! The backdrop of the neighbouring volcanic formations is breathtaking, Yalobi Bay is the southernmost island in the Yasawa’s and the most mountainous. The mountains here are often topped by clouds, which brings moisture to the area making it far greener than other western Fijian Islands. Tall mountains surround the deep teal blue water in the bay, rising dramatically behind the small palm-covered village onshore. Spend time swimming, snorkelling and relaxing on the beach. Today you can also learn how to make the Roti in Lolo dish.

Blue Lagoon – Head ashore for happy hour and canapés, a special night is ahead with traditional Lovo feast cooked underground and enjoyed on the beach under the palm trees and stars.

Sawa-I-Lau Island – Most of the day is at leisure at Blue Lagoon. You can take a morning guided island walk, visit an island-style cake shop and browse the shell market or take a snorkelling safari. After lunch, cruise north to explore Sawa-I-Lau caves. You will be welcomed by the local village for a guided walk around the village and enjoy a local traditional Fijian feast.

Drawaqa Island – Visit Drawaqa Island alongside a marine reserve for spectacular snorkelling. From May to October, you can also experience the manta rays that feed in the channel just off the beach. This area is also one of the main dive spots on your cruise, with amazing coral gardens just off the coastline, it is amongst the finest in Fiji. You can visit a local school and dinner is a BBQ on the deck under the stars.

Meals included: All meals on cruise, breakfast, lunch and dinner plus morning and afternoon teas and bubbles for breakfast (with sparkling wine at breakfast), 24-hour tea/coffee and a water station.

Day 12: Depart Fiji

After breakfast onboard and a traditional farewell ‘Isa Lei’ serenade from the crew, you will disembark at Port Denarau.  The balance of your day is at your leisure, you can spend time at the port for the day picking up last minute souvenirs and dining at the restaurants before transferring to the airport, or you may choose to add a hotel room for the day (hotel day room additional cost).
