Day 1: Depart Canada
Depart today, flying on Air New Zealand via Auckland to Bali, Indonesia.
Day 3: Arrive Denpasar, Bali
Arrive in Bali and make your way to your hotel located in Sanur Beach on the southeast coast of the island. Your resort overlooks the beach and is surrounded by tropical gardens. Stay for 7 nights at the Puri Santrian Beach Resort & Spa (Superior Room).
Days 4-9: Bali
Your time in Bali is free to relax and explore. Sanur is a charming seaside town with a beach stretching approximately 5km. The seafront promenade is fringed by lush landscaped grounds of resorts with plenty of shops, local restaurants and cafes to choose from. It is a nice balance between easily accessible for exploring other parts of the island and a great place to relax.
Day 10: Denpasar ( Bali) – Auckland (New Zealand)
Depart Bali today and fly on Air New Zealand to Aotearoa (New Zealand). On arrival, make your way to your central Auckland city hotel. The remainder of your day is at your leisure. Stay for 4 nights at Oaks Auckland Hotel (Superior Hotel Room) or similar.
Days 11-13: Auckland
New Zealand’s largest city is within easy reach of wineries, islands, hiking, zip-lining and more. The city’s diverse population includes influences from Maori, European and Asian cultures – providing a range of great dining experiences around the city. You have three days to explore Auckland and during your stay we have included the following experiences during your stay:
Auckland City Morning Tour – Known as the City of Sails, Auckland is New Zealand’s largest and busiest city, set on 52 dormant volcanic cones and between two harbours. Explore the history and sights as well as see how Aucklanders live and play.
Waiheke Island Explorer – board a ferry from downtown Auckland to Waiheke Island. A Hop-On Hop-Off bus allows you to explore the island at your own pace. Stops include vineyards, restaurants, shops, art galleries, beaches and nature walks.
Day 14: Auckland – Rotorua
Leave Auckland and travel south through the lush farmland of the Waikato and King Country regions to Rotorua. On the way south you will explore Hobbiton Movie Set & Farm on a guided tour of the 12-acre movie set. Step into the lush pastures of ‘the Shire’, visit 44 hobbit holes and hear about the making of the movies. Continue south to the geothermal area of Rotorua, passing through the tiny town of Tirau (the corrugated iron sculpture capital of the world) and stunning Fitzgerald Glade.
After arriving in Rotorua, tonight we have included the following experience: Te Po Indigenous evening experience – enjoy a taste of Te Puia’s 3-hour hāngī buffet dinner with a cultural performance at a beautifully carved meeting house. It will include a pōwhiri (traditional welcome), waiata (song), mōteatea (traditional chant) poi and haka. The evening finishes with a steamed pudding surrounded by steam and the geyser terrace bathed in coloured light.
Stay for 1 night in Rotorua at Novotel Rotorua Lakeside (City View Twin Room) or similar.
Day 15: Rotorua (New Zealand) – Melbourne (Australia)
Leave New Zealand today and fly to Australia. Stay for 4 nights in Melbourne at the Hotel Indigo Melbourne on Flinders (King Standard Room) or similar.
Days 16-18: Melbourne
You have three days to explore Melbourne and surrounds. During your stay, we have included the following experiences:
Melbourne Foodie Discovery – a walking tour to experience the flavours Melbourne such as national dishes, specialty coffee, dumplings, a sweet treat and a drink in a laneway bar the locals love. Many of Melbourne’s highlights are hidden from the main streets in lanes, alleys and arcades.
Great Ocean Road Tour – experience this majestic coastal drive with plenty of stops along the way. Spot Australian fauna and look out for whales, dolphins, echidnas and bandicoots. Enjoy breathtaking views stop for a rainforest, have a break in Apollo Bay and head to the limestone rock formations known as the 12 Apostles. Nearby is Loch Ard Gorge where you hear the story of the shipwreck and dip your toes in the water at the Gorge’s quaint beach.
Phillip Island Tour – an adventure starting with a visit to Moonlit Sanctuary Conservation Park to see Australian animals like kangaroos, wombats and echidnas. Head to the Phillip Island Penguin Parade and sit on a platform to see hundreds of little penguins waddling onto the beach at sunset.
Day 19: Melbourne – Sydney
Travel from Melbourne (Southern Cross Station) to Sydney (Central Station) today via high speed rail that takes approximately 11-hours. On arrival in Sydney, make your way to your hotel. Stay for 4 nights at Mercure Sydney (Standard Room) or similar.
Days 20-22: Sydney
You have three days to experience a taste of Sydney, from the city, harbour, beaches and suburbs to surrounding regions of the Hunter Valley wine region and Blue Mountains National Park. We have included the following experiences during your stay:
Sydney Opera House Tour – a guided tour inside this modern masterpiece that one of the world’s most unique buildings including the story behind the design and construction of this icon that is World Heritage listed. This is an immersive digital sight and sound experience from past Concert Hall performances and guides you through the history and future of this performance space. Go inside one of the working venues to experience the magic behind the world’s most extraordinary opera, ballet, symphony and dramatic performances. Note: this tour includes over 300 steps. Flat, enclosed rubber soled shoes must be worn.
Sydney Rocks Historic Walking Tour – explore Sydney’s heritage through hidden narrow back alleys, courtyards and cobblestone lanes. View some of Sydney’s oldest dwellings, the gothic Garrison Church, pubs once frequented by the locals and sailors alike and the haunts of the cutthroats and rogues. This tour highlights the shoreline of sparkling Sydney Cove, Cadman’s Cottage and The Rocks historic precinct including George Street, Rocks Square, Foundation Park, the Argyle Cut, Suez Canal and Nurses Walk. The Rocks is made up of beautifully restored buildings in a picturesque harbourside location that features some of the finest restaurants, unique shopping, museums, galleries and weekend street markets.
Blue Mountains National Park Tour – this full day tour to the amazing Blue Mountains starts with a stop at Featherdale Wildlife Park for a chance to feed kangaroos and take a photo with a koala. Your day will include many stops around the Blue Mountains. From epic views at Pulpit Rock to Hargraves Lookout and Lincolns Rock, you will be taken to some of the best locations including the Three Sisters.
Day 23: Sydney (Australia) – Auckland (New Zealand)
Fly from Sydney to Auckland today on Air New Zealand. On arrival in Auckland, stay for 1 night at Holiday Inn Auckland Airport (Standard Room) or similar.
Day 24: Auckland (New Zealand) – Rarotonga (The Cook Islands)
Kia Orana, welcome to the Cook Islands. On arrival you will be met at the airport and transferred to your island accommodation. Stay for 5 nights at Lagoon Breeze Villas (Garden Studio).
Days 25-28: Rarotonga
Your accommodation is located on 4-acres of lush tropical gardens and offers just 24 villas on Rarotonga’s sunset coast across from the Aroa Beach & Marine Reserve. This self-catering property has a pool, communal BBQ and complimentary kayaks. Each villa also includes air conditioning, kitchenette and an outdoor patio. Your villa is across the road from the beach and the Aroa Marine Reserve on the southwest coast of the island. The breakfast café serves a breakfast daily and afternoon happy hour (except Sunday).
Day 29: Depart Rarotonga (Cook Islands)
Transfer to Rarotonga Airport to start your journey home. Fly from Rarotonga to Vancouver (via Auckland) on Air New Zealand. Your incredible month-long journey comes to an end today when you arrive home in Canada.
