Day 1: Arrive Melbourne, Australia
Welcome to Melbourne and Australia. This evening, join your group for a welcome reception and dinner.
Day 2: Melbourne Sightseeing
Take a Melbourne city sightseeing tour that includes a private walk through Melbourne’s hidden laneways. You’ll discover the city’s eclectic lanes, arcades, café society and fascinating street art. There will be time afterwards to explore the city on your own, enjoy an optional experience or simply relax and watch the world go by.
Day 3: Melbourne – Cairns
Fly to Cairns (Note: flight prices not included in this tour) in the heart of Tropical North Queensland. Jump aboard a cruise at Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures to discover wildlife such as koalas, wallabies and crocs. Visit a Rainforest Restoration project to protect the natural wonder of the nearby Notophyll Vine Forest, which is older than the Amazon. Helping the team plant trees to support the protection of this rare type of dry rainforest from development and restoring it to an important wildlife corridor of native birds.
Day 4: Great Barrier Reef
Go from city to sea today on a full day bucket list exploration of the world’s largest coral reef system in the Great Barrier Reef, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Set sail on a high-speed catamaran to explore this underwater wonderland up close. Snorkel and feel like a fish in an aquarium weaving through the rainbow of reefs and fish or stay dry in the semi-submersible air-conditioned craft with an underwater observatory for a different view. Onboard you’ll enjoy a buffet lunch.
Day 5: Cairns
Today you have a day at leisure in Cairns to do as you choose. There are a number of great optional sightseeing tours (additional cost) such as Skyrail Rainforest Cableway to Kuranda over and through World Heritage rainforest, explore quaint Kuranda village and Kuranda Scenic Rail for a historic rail journey. If you’d prefer to spend the day relaxing by your hotel pool or sitting back at a local café you can do that too! In the evening rejoin your travelling companions for dinner.
Day 6: Cairns – Sydney
After a leisurely morning, switch the tropical vibes to city highlights as you fly to Sydney (Note: flight prices not included in this tour). The day is at your leisure.
Day 7: Sydney Sightseeing
Discover one of the great highlights of Sydney, the beautiful Sydney Opera House on a guided tour inside this iconic building. Then experience the beauty of the city aboard a harbor cruise sailing past Circular Quay, Shark Island, magnificent homes, beaches, parkland and the iconic Harbor Bridge. If there ever was a place that slipped from the pages of a fairy-tale, Wendy’s Secret Garden at Lavender Bay is it. Overlooking Sydney Harbor, this pocket of floral paradise is explained by a local volunteer. Take a walk around the grounds among the shrubs, herbs, and towering trees lining meandering paths, eyes peeled for the resident parrots, gulls, kookaburras and wagtails.
Day 8: Sydney
Today is yours to explore at your leisure or book one of our optional activities (additional cost). Why not take a day trip to the spectacular Blue Mountains for stunning scenery, the charming village of Leura, the famous Three Sisters rock formation and visit a Wildlife Park to get up close with some of Australia’s cuddly native animals. Or, if you have always wanted to climb Sydney Harbour Bridge, today could be your chance on a thrilling ‘Bridgeclimb’. Your Farewell Dinner tonight is beside Sydney Harbour.
Day 9: Depart Sydney, Australia
Bid farewell to your fellow travellers when your tour concludes after breakfast.
