The magical island of Moorea is part of the Society archipelago and one of the most strikingly beautiful islands in French Polynesia. Just a short distance from the main island of tahiti, Moorea is believed to have inspired the mythical Bali Hai from James Mitcheners tales of the South Pacific. Today Moorea maintains its small island feel with a relaxed pace. With eight mountain peaks rising from the picturesque lagoon, this island has a distinct rugged appearance. It is just 62km to circle and surrounded by bright turquiose lagoon and a barrier reef.
Choose from two hotel options in this package – Cooks Bay Hotel on the north coast offers a relaxing retreat in a convenient central location in iconic Cooks Bay (also known as Paopao Bay). This is an ideal place for some of the best views on this island and to explore local shops, dining and activities. Your second option is the Sofitel Moorea Kia Ora, a secluded waterfront setting on the islands largest white sand beach located on the eastern side of Moorea.

TRIP ITINERARY
Tropical Island Vacation in Moorea
7 Day Adventure
Day 1: Arrive Papeeté, Tahiti
Ia Orana! Welcome to the Islands of Tahiti. On arrival you will be met at Faa’a International Airport and transfer to the Papeete waterfront where you will take a passenger ferry from Papeete to Moorea (approximately 40 minutes). On arrival in the island of Moorea you will transferred to your hotel where you will stay for 6 nights.
Days 2-6: The Island of Moorea
Relax… you’re on Island Time! Spend your days either relaxing and exploring this wonderful island and its surrounding pristine waters. This is an island where you can chill with locals, find a quiet beach, hike, snorkel, jetski, swim with rays, dive, enjoy a motu picnic and so much more. To kickstart your adventure, we have included the following three Moorea excursions:
Moorea Lagoon Excursion – sail by large double canoe into Cook and Opunohu bays and along the north coast where you can see blacktip sharks and stingrays in the clear waters. Learn about the legends of the island, its geography, flora and fauna. Enjoy free time on a motu to relax on the beach, snorkel or perhaps play volleyball as well as a Tahitian BBQ buffet picnic.
Moorea East Coast Island ATV Excursion – either a morning or afternoon guided adventure to parts of which are still inaccessible to standard vehicles. Discover lush vegetation, plantations, rivers and panoramic views.
Tiki Village Tahitian Feast, Show and Dinner – one night, meet Polynesians who will share their culture, art and their dances. From the art of tattoos to the traditional Tahitian oven through the various workshops of weaving, carving, cooking. Tiki Village is a fun night including a famous dance show and buffet feast.
Day 7: Depart Papeeté, Tahiti
Farewell Moorea and the islands of Tahiti today. Today is at leisure before your transfer to the Moorea dock to take your passenger ferry from Moorea to Papeeté, followed by a shuttle transfer to the airport. Note: Your international flights are not included, contact us for the latest fares to travel from Canada to Tahiti.
