Sample Tour Itinerary (Subject to Change)

Day 1: Arrive Darwin, Australia

Touch down in Darwin and dive into the heart of the Northern Territory on a 1.5 hour outback inspired gourmet food and art experience. Take a guided walk highlighting cultural sites and notable historic landmarks, including Darwin’s colourful street art. Afterwards, relax in the cool surrounds of a premier restaurant and indulge in six signature tasting plates showcasing the region’s freshest local produce.

Day 2: Darwin – Kakadu

Departing Darwin, your day begins with the tranquil beauty of the Corroboree Billabong Wetland Cruise, where you’ll glide through pristine wetlands, spotting crocodiles and vibrant birdlife. Continue your adventure in Kakadu National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site spanning 20,000 square kilometres, full of cascading waterfalls, lush rainforests, expansive wetlands, unique wildlife, and ancient rock art. This area is renowned for its cultural significance. Discover the Indigenous stories at the Murrawaddi Art Gallery, admiring remarkable artworks that convey tales of tradition and spirituality.

Day 3: Kakadu National Park

Today is another day of adventure in the heart of Kakadu National Park.  If you are looking for the ultimate Kakadu experience, start your day with a Kakadu scenic flight soaring above ancient landscapes and countless waterways as the sun rises (optional flight excursion, additional expense).

Next, get ready to be inspired on the Guluyambi Cultural Cruise. Glide along the East Alligator River, encountering unique wildlife and gaining fascinating insights into traditional customs and practices from local Aboriginal guides. Later today, spend some time at leisure before heading to Ubirr to experience ancient rock art and spectacular panoramic views.

Day 4: Kakadu – Nitmulik National Park

Immerse yourself in the Kakadu’s history with a tour of Burrungkuy (Nourlangie) Rock Art, where your Driver Guide will share captivating stories of this remarkable site. As you bid farewell to this natural wonder, embark on a journey to the town of Katherine. Along the way, you’ll have a stop at Pine Creek, a town steeped in rich mining history. Here, you can step back in time to the gold rush era of the 19th century, exploring heritage bush buildings and mining sites, remnants of a bygone era. As the sun sets, find solace in the luxurious comfort of Cicada Lodge in Nitmiluk National Park, where your lodge is nestled amidst the whispers of the bush.

Day 5: Katherine & Nitmulik Gorge

Start the day with a leisurely breakfast before travelling to the tranquil Katherine Hot Springs for a mid-morning soak amidst lush surroundings. Indulge in the soothing thermal waters. Afterwards, enjoy free time for lunch in Katherine.

This afternoon embark on a sunset dinner cruise along majestic Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge, marvelling at towering cliffs and ancient rock formations that bear witness to millennia of natural history. After a day filled with blissful moments and unforgettable experiences, retire to the sanctuary of Cicada Lodge, within the rugged beauty of Nitmiluk National Park.

Day 6: Depart Darwin, Australia

On the final day of this remarkable journey, enjoy breakfast before bidding farewell to Cicada Lodge and setting out for one last adventure. Travel to a different corner of Nitmiluk National Park, where the enchanting Leliyn (Edith) Falls beckon. With the opportunity for a refreshing swim (seasonal) immerse yourself in the cool waters, surrounded by cascading waterfalls of this natural oasis. Travel up the Stuart Highway to Darwin where your tour ends.
