This extended stay package is an excellent month away with a little time in Sydney first to see the iconic Harbour Bridge, Sydney Opera House and Blue Mountains National Park. Second stop for an extended stay is southeast Queensland, where the weather is beautiful one day and perfect the next! The endless miles of stunning golden sand will be a great destination for your early morning walks which will help justify your afternoon cocktail and BBQ dinner. You have two choices, either stay in the bustling Gold Coast Surfers Paradise, or for a quieter few weeks choose Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast.
The region has so many adventures you can add or extend your time in Australia to see the Gold Coast’s rainforest hinterland, the Shipwreck Coast, Brisbane, Lady Elliot Island to snorkel off the beach on the world’s largest living organism or perhaps pristine K’Gari (Fraser Island). TRIP ITINERARY
Australia Winter Escape - Sydney & Southern Queensland
28 Day Adventure
Day 1: Arrive Sydney, Australia
G’day and welcome to Sydney! You will be picked up and transferred to your central city Sydney hotel where you will stay for 4 nights. The balance of your day is at leisure.
Days 2-5: Sydney, New South Wales
Start your extended Australia adventure with a short city stay in Sydney with 3 days to explore. We have included two sightseeing excursions in this package as follows:
The Rocks walking tour – The historic Rocks precinct holds a unique place in Sydney’s colonial history as the birthplace of European Australia. Hear the legends and history of the city on a guided heritage walking tour strolling the shoreline of the sparkling Sydney Harbour and wander down hidden alleyways, shady courtyards and cobbled lanes.
Blue Mountains wildlife tour – leave the city for the day to explore nearby World-Heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park. Head 1.5 hours west to Blue Mountains to explore the stunning lookouts, valleys, rainforest areas, bush walks and if you are lucky see iconic Australian animals as well.
Day 6: Sydney to Southern Queensland
Transfer from your Sydney hotel to the Sydney Domestic Airport where you will take a flight to the Gold Coast (flight price not included). Upon arrival, you will be transferred from to your coastal accommodation in Surfers Paradise or Maroochydore where you will stay for 22 nights.
Days 7-27: Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast
Your Gold Coast self-contained accommodation allows you to relax and soak in the southern Queensland lifestyle from the comfort of your balcony with views of the ocean, hinterland or surrounding skyline of Surfers Paradise. The ultimate Gold Coast experience is at your doorstep with the beach just across the road. Enjoy fantastic surf and long stretches of sandy beach, you will be within easy walking distance of restaurants, beachfront markets, shops and the nightlife of central Surfers Paradise.
During your few weeks you may wish to add a visit the shipwreck coast and Moreton Island, Fraser Island, the Sunshine coast, Australia Zoo, Lone Pine Koala sanctuary or even one of the nearby theme parks.
If you choose the Sunshine Coast option, your self-contained apartment is in an idyllic beachside location with tropical landscaped grounds and a large lagoon style swimming pool and lap pool, gym and BBQ facilities. This resort is in a coveted position along the famous ‘Sunshine Strip’ just footsteps from the sand and a short distance to Alexandra Headland’s popular attractions. From here you are in easy reach of Maroochydore Beach, Mooloolaba Beach, Australia Zoo or venture north to Coolum Beach, Noosa. or K’Gari (Fraser Island).
Day 28: Depart Brisbane, Australia
Today your stay in Australia comes to an end. You will transfer to Brisbane International Airport for your flight home (Flight not included in price).
