TRIP ITINERARY
Beach Getaway - Placencia Peninsula, Southern Belize
7 Day Adventure
Day 1: Arrive Belize
Welcome to Belize, on arrival in Belize City airport, you will be met and transfer by private vehicle (approximately 3 hours) south to Placencia, in the Stann Creek District where you will stay in a luxury resort for 6 nights.
Days 2-6: Placencia, Stann Creek District
You have 5 days here to relax and enjoy your beach resort and the Placencia Peninsula. The lowkey Placencia seaside village is less than 20mins away by car or a 40min bike ride and has a main street filled with quirky boutiques and cafes. Seine Bright village and Maya Beach are also just a 15min bicycle ride away.
From here you can go river tubing, zip lining, explore national parks, search for Jaguars, see Scarlet Macaws in Red Back Village December to March, or take a Monkey River boat tour and jungle hike to search for Howler monkeys. The waters nearby attract Whale Sharks March to June each year, the nearby Belize Reef reefs and offshore cayes offer fisherman the chance to catch Permite, Tarpoon and Bonefish. We have included the following two excursions for you during your stay:
Nim Li Punit and Lubaantun Mayan sites private tour – visit two of the most iconic and interesting ancient Mayan sites in southern Belize. Lubaantun ‘Place of fallen stones’ is an archaeological zone known for its unique construction style. Nim Li Punit Archaeological Reserve (Big Hat) is a Mayan site known for its 25 intricately carved stelae. Once bustling cities with tens of thousands of inhabitants, these sites were abandoned for unknown reasons about 1,000 years ago. They were slowly reclaimed by the surrounding jungle, only to be rediscovered in the past few decades.
Ranguana Island experience – Cruise out to the picture perfect 2-acre private island (Caye) from to spend teh day in a pristine tropical paradise. Paddle board, kayak, hammock nap, sunbathe, snorkel from the island, fish, drink, eat and play beach games. a beach bar provides the music and libations while the staff prepares a delicious beach BBQ. Does not include beverages.
Day 7: Placencia to Belize City
Depart Belize today, transfer from your hotel north to Belize City to depart on a flight home to Canada (flight not included).
