Australia Foodie Trip Package from Sydney to Melbourne

15 Day Adventure

Day 1: Depart Canada

Depart Canada today to fly to Australia.  You will ‘lose’ a day as your cross the international dateline.

Day 3: Arrive Sydney, Australia

G’Day! welcome to Australia. On arrival you will be met and have a private transfer to your Sydney hotel. The remainder of your day is at your leisure.

Stay for 4 nights in Sydney at The Radisson Blu Plaza (or similar)

Days 4-6: Sydney & The Hunter Valley

This iconic Australian city is the perfect way to commence your adventure.  While in Sydney we have the following experiences included in your package:

Taste of Sydney Experience – an afternoon exploring the city visiting iconic sites of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Sydney Opera House and the Rocks as well as Barangaroo, the newest dining destination.  Indulge in ice cream, scrumptious French tarts, Italian classics, local cheeses as well as local beer and ‘pub grub’ in one of Australia’s oldest public houses that has 360° views of the harbour. Explore Barangaroo and The Rocks and hear stories of old and new Sydney and complete your adventure with a delightful Thai meal. This tour operates on Mon/Wed/Fri/Sat

Hunter Valley Boutique Wine and Cheese Tour – Venture out to the Australia’s oldest wine growing region, the Hunter Valley on a small group tour. Just two hours north of Sydney, the Hunter combines world renowned wines, gourmet produce and stunning countryside. Enjoy fabulous food and wine, the flexible itinerary gives you access to a range of excellent wineries and the opportunity to meet the wine makers. Includes a local cheese tasting with and a paired wine tasting with chocolate or fudge. Enjoy lunch at a cafe with a glass of wine.

Sydney Opera House VIP Tour and Dinner – This is an unforgettable experience. Enjoy a 1-hour VIP guided tour of the Sydney Opera House. Go behind the scenes of the most iconic building in the city, learn its history and go behind the scenes. Finish with a dinner at the famous Bennelong, the signature restaurant by one of Australia’s finest chefs where Australian produce and wine take centerstage. Here you will enjoy fine dining with a two-course meal paired with Australian wines.

Day 7: Sydney to Adelaide

Depart Sydney today and fly to Adelaide, South Australia.  On arrival in Adelaide, you will be met and have a private transfer to your Adelaide hotel.

Days 8-10 Adelaide, McLaren Vale & The Barossa Valley

South Australia has a smaller city feel but packs a large punch when it comes to food and wine experiences. Over the next few days, you have the following experiences included:

Adelaide Central Market Foodie Tour – Explore this buzzing South Australian haven of premium food and wine products, a second home to chefs and food lovers since 1869. Start early with the best market espresso, tea or hot chocolate and watch the market come to life while enjoying breakfast. Embark on a sensory and interactive gourmet walking tour of the market with a local food expert. Visit stallholders, taste delicious samples representing the multicultural community and produce harvested from local farms and oceans. Tour operates Tue/Thu/Fri/Sat.

McLaren Vale Food Safari – This full day thrilling adventure takes you ‘off the beaten track’ to explore the world acclaimed wine region of McLaren Vale and the Fleurieu Peninsula including a range of offroad tracks through gorges and escarpments. Stops include stunning scenery, wildlife, wine tasting in the vineyards with an award-winning winemaker and a gourmet lunch at a historic homestead overlooking the 25 year old shiraz vineyard. Return via the coast where you will drive along the beach and have the chance to stroll through the crystal-clear ocean of the Gulf St. Vincent.

Best of The Barossa Valley – Travel through the scenic Torrens Gorge to the wine producing region of the Barossa Valley, most famous for its Shiraz.  Your day will be personalised based on interests in red or white wines, which may include Two Hands, Torbreck, a local cheesemaker, lunch al fresco or at Vintners just out of Angaston. You may take in Henschke winery (closed on Sundays), Yalumba the biggest family-owned winery or boutique producers such as Charles Melton or Turkey Flat. For the food lovers a visit to Maggie Beer Farm shop is a must.

Day 11: Adelaide to Melbourne

Depart Adelaide and fly to Victoria.  On Arrival in Melbourne, you will be met and transferred to your hotel and the remainder of your day is at your leisure

Stay for 4 nights in Melbourne at Crown Promenade (or similar)
Meals included: Breakfast Daily

Days 12-14: Melbourne, The Yarra Valley and The Mornington Peninsula

During your time staying in Melbourne, Victoria we have included the following experiences:

The Mornington and Bellarine Peninsula – visit two regions in a day to see, feel and taste the produce from some of Melbourne’s best beer, food and wine. Walk the esplanade waterfront in Geelong, taste wine at Scotmans Hill and Jack Rabbit Vineyards and beer at St Andrews Beach Brewery as well as enjoy afternoon tea while cruising the bay. Your day will also including some scenic views including the iconic bathing boxes on the beach, and if you are lucky, you may even spot wildlife! Tour operates Mon/Wed/Fri.

Melbourne Foodie Culture Tour – One of the most multicultural cities in the world, Melbournians come from over 200 countries. Begin your urban trail at the Immigration Museum to hear the stories of arrivals from all over the world, their challenges, their triumphs and their food. This tour walking through the streets of Melbourne will introduce you to some local favourite foods, architecture and stories of the city. Visit an Aboriginal owned café to discover native Australian ingredients. Tour operates Tue/Thu/Fri/Sat.

Yarra Valley Experience – A full day experience sampling your way through the beautiful Yarra Valley region including some premium wineries and local produce as well as the opportunity to meet the maker. This includes chocolate, ice cream, three boutique wineries and cellar-door estates. You will have time at leisure at Healesville to have lunch (not included), explore the local shops, cafes, and restaurants or perhaps visit Four Pillars Gin Distillery, Matilda Bay Brewery or Alchemy Distillers.  Tour operates Tue/Thu/Fri/Sat/Sun.

Day 15: Melbourne, Australia to Canada

Your Australia adventure comes to an end today.  Transfer to Melbourne Tullamarine Airport for your flight to Canada.  You will arrive home the same day!
