Sample Australia Itinerary (Subject to change)

Day 1:  Depart Canada

Depart today, flying Fiji Airways from Vancouver.  You will cross the international dateline and ‘lose’ a day, but you will get this back on the return journey.

Day 3: Arrive Sydney, Australia

G’Day! Welcome to Australia and the state of New South Wales.  On arrival in Sydney, you will be transferred by private car to your central city hotel, where you will stay for 3 nights. The remainder of today is spent at your leisure.

Days 4-5: Sydney

Enjoy a combination of excursions and free time while in Sydney. There is  so much to see and do in this iconic city and beyond in New South Wales! Enjoy one of the many beaches from Bronte Beach to Bondi, explore different neighborhoods, catch a performance at the incredible Sydney Opera House, explore the wilderness area of the Blue Mountains National Park or the Hunter Valley wine region!

We have included the following excursions during your stay to get you started exploring: Sydney Opera House Tour – Discover insider secrets and stories of the Opera House artists and performances, step inside the iconic theatres and foyers that bring to life over 1,800 performances each year. Explore the building with knowledgeable guides, learn about how the original architect Jorn Utzon’s vision came into existence against impossible odds.

Guided Sydney Walking Tour – an immersive journey through one of Sydney’s most historic precincts where cobblestone streets and colonial buildings tell tales of early settlers. Delve into the rich tapestry of stories from the area’s foundation as a convict settlement to its transformation into a bustling waterfront neighborhood. Explore hidden alleyways, heritage-listed pubs, and landmarks. This is approximately 2km of walking covered at a leisurely pace through one of the city’s most charming quarters.

Sydney Harbour Lunch Cruise – spend a couple of hours cruising and taking in the sights of Sydney from the water with its many secluded beaches and spectacular sandstone cliffs while enjoying lunch onboard. Listen to commentary on the history of Sydney Harbour as well as details of the marine life that inhabits its sandy beaches, grassy sea beds and rocky shores.

Day 6: Sydney – Canberra

Make your own way to the train station and take a local train from Sydney to Canberra, Australia’s capital city. Check into your Canberra hotel where you will stay for 2 nights.

Day 7: Canberra

Canberra is a hidden gem that offers a fascinating blend of national landmarks, cultural attractions and scenic parklands. Discover iconic institutions, impressive museums and galleries, and beautiful lakeside settings while exploring the heart of the nation. We have included the following excursion: Canberra Highlights City Tour – Spend a full day discovering Canberra. Start with panoramic views from the summit of Mount Ainslie before visiting the National Capital Exhibition Centre and touring Australia’s Parliament House. Explore the Parliamentary Triangle and its nationally significant institutions, then visit the Australian War Memorial, where you’ll experience the moving Last Post Ceremony.

Day 8: Canberra – Adelaide

You will be transferred by private car to Canberra Airport and fly to Adelaide in South Australia today. This afternoon, check into your Adelaide hotel where you will stay for 3 nights.

Days 9-10: Adelaide, McLaren Vale & Kangaroo Island

Adelaide combines elegant architecture, renowned food and wine, beautiful parklands and a relaxed lifestyle. As the gateway to some of Australia’s premier wine regions and wildlife experiences, it offers the perfect blend of culture, nature and local hospitality. During your stay in Adelaide we have included two full day experiences: Adelaide City Highlights & Wine Tasting Tour – see the city’s major highlights, enjoy panoramic views from Mount Lofty, and explore the charming German village of Hahndorf. Continue through the scenic Adelaide Hills to the renowned McLaren Vale wine region, where you’ll enjoy tastings at two celebrated wineries, before finishing the day in the beautiful seaside suburb of Glenelg.

Kangaroo Island Tour – rise early to spend the day exploring the natural beauty and unique wildlife of Kangaroo Island . Travel by coach and ferry to one of Australia’s premier nature destinations, where you’ll enjoy a guided walk among Australian sea lions at Seal Bay, see spectacular coastal scenery at Flinders Chase National Park, including Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch, and get up close to kangaroos and koalas at Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park. A delicious two-course lunch is included.

Day 11: Adelaide – The Ghan

Make your way to the Adelaide train station where your incredible 3 night outback rail journey on The Ghan train from Adelaide to Darwin starts today. Relax, once onboard, everything has been considered and most things are included in your fare. From world-class food and wine to a range of immersive off-train experiences, your toughest decision for the next few days will be what to have for lunch and which experience to join.

Days 12-13: The Ghan Train

Sit back and enjoy one of the world’s great rail journeys through the heart of Australia. The Ghan delivers so much more than just an extended train ride, it gives you access to parts of Australia no other holiday can come close to and is the perfect balance of comfort and adventure.  This is an experience that will move you in every sense of the word!.

Journey through ever-changing landscapes, from the rolling hills of South Australia, Alice Springs and the dramatic Red Centre to the tropical Top End and Katherine. Enjoy all-inclusive dining, premium service and immersive off-train experiences along the way, making this an iconic Australian adventure that showcases the vast beauty and diversity of the continent.

Day 14: Darwin

On arrival in Darwin, make your way from the train station to your hotel where you will stay overnight. Darwin is the vibrant capital of Australia’s Northern Territory, where tropical landscapes, rich Indigenous culture and fascinating history come together. Overlooking Darwin Harbour, the city is known for its relaxed atmosphere, colourful sunsets, bustling waterfront and outdoor lifestyle.

Day 15: Darwin – Perth

You will be transferred by private car to Darwin Airport and fly to Perth today. On arival in Perth you will be transferred by private car to your Perth hotel, where you will stay for 3 nights.

Perth is Western Australia’s vibrant capital, celebrated for its sunny climate, beautiful beaches and relaxed lifestyle. Set along the banks of the Swan River, the city offers a blend of modern attractions, waterfront precincts, world-class dining and expansive parklands. Perth is also the gateway to some of Australia’s most spectacular experiences, including Rottnest Island, the Swan Valley wine region and the stunning landscapes of Western Australia.

Days 16-17: Perth

We have included the following excursions during your stay: Perth Walking Tour – a fantastic introduction to Western Australia’s vibrant capital. Join a knowledgeable local guide as you explore Perth’s rich history, striking architecture, contemporary culture and impressive public art. Wander through hidden laneways, heritage buildings, beautiful gardens and riverside precincts while learning fascinating stories about the city’s past and present. Along the way, you’ll also receive insider recommendations on Perth’s best cafés, bars, restaurants and local attractions to help you make the most of your stay.

Rottnest Island Tour – enjoy one of Western Australia’s most beloved island destinations. Travel by ferry to Rottnest Island, where you’ll enjoy a guided 1.5-hour tour exploring the island’s fascinating history, cultural heritage and unique wildlife. Visit iconic landmarks including Wadjemup Lighthouse and the rugged coastline of West End, with time to take in the spectacular ocean views from the boardwalk lookout. After your tour, return to Perth by ferry.

Day 18: Perth – The Indian Pacific

Make your way to Perth train station where your incredible 4-night rail journey on The Indian Pacific train from Perth to Sydney starts today. The Indian Pacific has been crossing the Nullarbor and traversing the world’s longest stretch of straight railway track for over 50 years.

Days 19-21: The Indian Pacific Train

Enjoy another one of the world’s great train journeys aboard the Indian Pacific across the vast Australian continent from the west coast to the east coast. Journey the path of bush pioneers, gold rush prospectors, and legendary adventurers through diverse landscapes, from the rugged beauty of Western Australia and the endless expanse of the Nullarbor Plain to the majestic Blue Mountains of New South Wales. From Perth, you’ll wake up in the outback with stops in Kalgoorlie and Cook as you travel across the Nullarbor Plain. Pass through South Australia, stopping in the Barossa Valley for an incredible dining experience, as well as Broken Hill and the Blue Mountains on your journey towards Sydney.

Enjoy all-inclusive dining, comfortable accommodation and immersive off train experiences, showcasing Australia’s incredible scale and diversity. There’s no better way to experience the spectacular interior landscape of Australia than by rail.

Day 22: Sydney

Your cross-country rail journey finishes today.  Make your own way from the Sydney train station to your hotel where you will overnight.

Day 23: Depart Sydney (Australia) – Canada

Your Australia adventure ends today.  You will be transferred by private car to Sydney International Airport for your flight home. Cross the international dateline again and arriving home the same day.

Day 23: Sydney (Australia) – Nadi (Fiji)

Bula! Welcome to Fiji.  On arrival, you will take a domestic flight from Nadi north to Taveuni Island.  You will be met and transferred to your boutique island resort where you will stay for 5 nights in a Beachfront Villa.

Days 24-27: Taveuni Island, Fiji

Relax… you’re on island time! Spend your days exploring at your own pace or simply unwind in a tropical paradise. Situated on Taveuni’s only private white-sand beach, Tides Reach Resort is an intimate boutique retreat that hosts only a small number of guests, offering a peaceful and highly personalized Fiji experience.

The resort includes your meals each day, complimentary Wi-Fi, and use of a range of non-motorized watersports equipment including kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, snorkeling gear, volleyball, and e-bikes. Day 28: Taveuni – Nadi – Canada

Depart Fiji today. You will be transferred from your resort to Matei Airport for a short flight from Taveuni to to Nadi where you will connect with your international flight home. You will cross the international dateline again and arrive home the same day!
