Sample Australia Itinerary (Subject to change)

Day 1:  Depart Canada

Depart today, flying Fiji Airways from Vancouver.  You will cross the international dateline and ‘lose’ a day, but you will get this back on the return journey.

Day 3: Arrive Melbourne, Australia

G’Day! Welcome to Australia and the state of Victoria.  On arrival in Melbourne, make your own way to your central city hotel where you will stay for 3 nights. The remainder of today is at your leisure.

Days 4-5: Melbourne

Based on the banks of the Yarra River, Melbourne is a vibrant city renowned for its world-class sporting events, historic gardens, hidden laneways, thriving arts scene and exceptional food, coffee and wine culture. Often ranked among the world’s most liveable cities, Melbourne combines a cosmopolitan atmosphere with charming neighbourhoods, expansive parklands and a rich cultural heritage.

There is plenty to see and do both within the city and throughout the surrounding regions. To help you get started, we’ve included a Melbourne Highlights City Tour, offering a wonderful introduction to Australia’s cultural capital. Travel south past Albert Park, home of the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix, before visiting the iconic Brighton Beach Bathing Boxes for memorable photos along the bay. Returning to the city, enjoy a guided walking tour through Melbourne’s famous laneways and historic arcades, where vibrant street art, hidden cafés and fascinating local stories bring the city’s unique character to life.

Day 6: Melbourne – Canberra

Fly from Melbourne to Canberra, Australia’s capital city. This afternoon check into your Canberra hotel where you will stay for 2 nights.

Day 7: Canberra

Canberra is a hidden gem that offers a fascinating blend of national landmarks, cultural attractions and scenic parklands. Discover iconic institutions, impressive museums and galleries, and beautiful lakeside settings while exploring the heart of the nation. We have included the following excursion: Canberra Highlights City Tour – Spend a full day discovering Canberra. Start with panoramic views from the summit of Mount Ainslie before visiting the National Capital Exhibition Centre and touring Australia’s Parliament House. Explore the Parliamentary Triangle and its nationally significant institutions, then visit the Australian War Memorial, where you’ll experience the moving Last Post Ceremony.

Day 8: Canberra – Cairns

Fly north from Canberra to Cairns today.  Welcome to tropical northern Queensland on Australia’s northeast coast. Check into your centrally located Cairns hotel  where you will stay for 4 nights.

Days 9-11: Cairns, the Great Barrier Reef & Outback

Cairns is the gateway to explore World Heritage listed areas of the Great Barrier Reef and ancient Daintree Rainforest.  There is much to see and do in the area, we have included the following excursions during your stay: Great Barrier Reef Cruise & Snorkel – experience the best of the Great Barrier Reef , travelling aboard the luxury superyacht Evolution. Visit two pristine reef locations in one day, with up to 5 hours to snorkel, relax and explore vibrant coral gardens and marine life. This excursion is great for first-time snorkellers and experienced ocean lovers.

Outback & Chillagoe Adventure – Journey into the Australian Outback on a full-day adventure, travelling through the Atherton Tablelands and remote countryside to the remarkable Chillagoe region. Explore a spectacular limestone cave on a guided tour, visit the historic Chillagoe Smelters, see ancient Aboriginal rock art, and enjoy lunch at a traditional Aussie pub. The day concludes at Granite Gorge, where you’ll have the opportunity to hand-feed rare Mareeba Rock Wallabies in their natural habitat.

Day 12: Cairns – Sydney

Fly south to Sydney today.  This afternoon, check into your centrally-located Sydney hotel where you will stay for 3 nights.

Days 13-14: Sydney

Enjoy a combination of excursions and free time while in Sydney. There is  so much to see and do in this iconic city and beyond in New South Wales! Enjoy one of the many beaches from Bronte Beach to Bondi, explore different neighborhoods, catch a performance at the incredible Sydney Opera House, explore the wilderness area of the Blue Mountains National Park or the Hunter Valley wine region!

We have included the following excursions during your stay to get you started exploring: Start with a Sydney Harbour Cruise including lunch – spend a couple of hours cruising and taking in the sights of Sydney from the water with its many secluded beaches and spectacular sandstone cliffs while enjoying lunch onboard. Listen to commentary on the history of Sydney Harbour as well as details of the marine life that inhabits its sandy beaches, grassy sea beds and rocky shores.

Guided Sydney Walking Tour – an immersive journey through one of Sydney’s most historic precincts where cobblestone streets and colonial buildings tell tales of early settlers. Delve into the rich tapestry of stories from the area’s foundation as a convict settlement to its transformation into a bustling waterfront neighborhood. Explore hidden alleyways, heritage-listed pubs, and landmarks. This is approximately 2km of walking covered at a leisurely pace through one of the city’s most charming quarters.

Day 15: Sydney (Australia) – Canada

Your Australia adventure ends today.  Depart from Sydney, crossing the international dateline again and arriving home the same day.

Day 15: Sydney (Australia) – Nadi (Fiji)

Bula! Welcome to Fiji.  On arrival, you will be transferred by shuttle from Nadi International Airport to your beach resort on the west coast of Viti Levu. The rest of your day is at your leisure.

Days 16-17: Fiji

Your beachfront resort is great for swimming, snorkelling and reef walks at low tide. This simple relaxed Fijian-style resort includes a warm welcome and views of the Mamanuca Islands surrounded by lush tropical gardens a short walk to Vuda Marina or a 15 min drive to Lautoka town.

During your stay in Fiji we have included an island day: in this package:  Malamala Island and Beach Club  – make your own way to Denarau Marina and take a short 30min boat ride to a small private island Malamala Island in the Mamanucas to enjoy time relaxing surrounded by crystal clear waters, white sand beaches and a resort style pool.

Day 18: Depart Nadi, Fiji

Depart Fiji today. You will be transferred by shuttle to Nadi Airport for your onward flight.
