Experience a range of climatic zones as you explore Kilimanjaro, ‘the Roof of Africa ‘ is a dormant volcano with 3 cones and a snow-capped peak. Also known as Uhuru (meaning freedom in Swahili), Kili has seven established trekking routes. The 80km Rongai Route is more scenic and remote than the Marangu Route, easier than the Machame Route and has a high success rate. The remainder of the day is spent resting in preparation for the final ascent before a very early night at Kibo Huts. Overnight at Kibo Camp and rise at midnight start the ascent to summit.
Day 7: Kilimanjaro to Moshi
Wake at midnight to prepare for your Kilimanjaro summit ascent! Start the final, and by far the steepest and most demanding part of the climb by torchlight around 1 a.m. The goal is to reach Uhuru Peak just after sunrise. The beginning of this climb is darkness on a switchback trail with headlamps or flashlights through loose volcanic scree to reach the crater rim at Gillman’s Point. Rest there for a short time to enjoy the spectacular sunrise over Mawenzi. Those who are still feeling strong can make the 3-hour round trip to the summit of Kilimanjaro (Uhuru Peak,) passing spectacular glaciers and ice cliffs that occupy most of the summit area. The descent to Kibo is surprisingly fast. Continue your descent to reach your campsite at Horombo campsite where you will overnight.

This park is spectacular in the dry season when many of the migratory wildlife species come back to the permanent waters of the Tarangire River. Huge herds of wildebeest, zebras, elephants, elands and Oryx gather to stay in Tarangire until the onset of the rain when they migrate again to good grazing areas. Overnight in Karatu.

After breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park via Olduvai Gorge (travel time approximately 3-4 hours). It has an amazing landscape that resulted from the same tectonic forces that created the Great Rift Valley millions of years ago. Enjoy a game drive enroute to the Serengeti Wildbeest Camp where you will overnight.
Day 12: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater National Park
After breakfast, venture into the Serengeti’s wilderness corners for a full day of game viewing in the park. In the late afternoon, drive to Ngorongoro Wild Camp where you will overnight.
Day 13: Ngorongoro to Moshi
After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Crater for game drives. This is renowned as the best place in Tanzania to see black rhino as well as prides of lion that include the magnificent black-manned males.
