Sample Australia Itinerary (Subject to change)

Day 1:  Depart Canada

Depart today, flying Fiji Airways from Vancouver.  You will cross the international dateline and ‘lose’ a day, but you will get this back on the return journey.

Day 3: Arrive Sydney, Australia

G’Day! Welcome to Australia and the state of New South Wales.  On arrival in Sydney, make your own way to your central city hotel, where you will stay for 3 nights. The remainder of today is at your leisure.

Days 4-5: Sydney

Enjoy a combination of excursions and free time while in Sydney. There is  so much to see and do in this iconic city and beyond in New South Wales! Enjoy one of the many beaches from Bronte Beach to Bondi, explore different neighborhoods, catch a performance at the incredible Sydney Opera House, explore the wilderness area of the Blue Mountains National Park or the Hunter Valley wine region!

We have included the following excursions during your stay to get you started exploring: Start with a Sydney Harbour Cruise including lunch – spend a couple of hours cruising and taking in the sights of Sydney from the water with its many secluded beaches and spectacular sandstone cliffs while enjoying lunch onboard. Listen to commentary on the history of Sydney Harbour as well as details of the marine life that inhabits its sandy beaches, grassy sea beds and rocky shores.

Guided Sydney Walking Tour – an immersive journey through one of Sydney’s most historic precincts where cobblestone streets and colonial buildings tell tales of early settlers. Delve into the rich tapestry of stories from the area’s foundation as a convict settlement to its transformation into a bustling waterfront neighborhood. Explore hidden alleyways, heritage-listed pubs, and landmarks. This is approximately 2km of walking covered at a leisurely pace through one of the city’s most charming quarters.

Day 6: Sydney – Canberra

Take a local train from Sydney to Canberra today, Australia’s capital city. Check into your Canberra hotel where you will stay for 2 nights.

Day 7: Canberra

Canberra is a hidden gem that offers a fascinating blend of national landmarks, cultural attractions and scenic parklands. Discover iconic institutions, impressive museums and galleries, and beautiful lakeside settings while exploring the heart of the nation. We have included the following excursion: Canberra Highlights City Tour – Spend a full day discovering Canberra. Start with panoramic views from the summit of Mount Ainslie before visiting the National Capital Exhibition Centre and touring Australia’s Parliament House. Explore the Parliamentary Triangle and its nationally significant institutions, then visit the Australian War Memorial, where you’ll experience the moving Last Post Ceremony.

Day 8: Canberra – Adelaide

Fly from Canberra to Adelaide in South Australia today. This afternoon, check into your Adelaide hotel where you will stay for 3 nights.

Days 9-10: Adelaide, McLaren Vale & Kangaroo Island

Adelaide combines elegant architecture, renowned food and wine, beautiful parklands and a relaxed lifestyle. As the gateway to some of Australia’s premier wine regions and wildlife experiences, it offers the perfect blend of culture, nature and local hospitality. During your stay in Adelaide we have included two full day experiences: Adelaide City Highlights & Wine Tasting Tour – see the city’s major highlights, enjoy panoramic views from Mount Lofty, and explore the charming German village of Hahndorf. Continue through the scenic Adelaide Hills to the renowned McLaren Vale wine region, where you’ll enjoy tastings at two celebrated wineries, before finishing the day in the beautiful seaside suburb of Glenelg.

Kangaroo Island Tour – rise early to spend the day exploring the natural beauty and unique wildlife of Kangaroo Island . Travel by coach and ferry to one of Australia’s premier nature destinations, where you’ll enjoy a guided walk among Australian sea lions at Seal Bay, see spectacular coastal scenery at Flinders Chase National Park, including Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch, and get up close to kangaroos and koalas at Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park. A delicious two-course lunch is included.

Day 11: Adelaide – Ayers Rock

Depart Adelaide and fly north into the heart of Australia today to the Red Center.  On arrival, take the shuttle to your Ayers Rock hotel where you will stay for 2 nights.

This afternoon, we’ve included an Uluru Sunset BBQ – a memorable Outback experience set among the red sand dunes and desert oak trees of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. Enjoy a delicious barbecue featuring Australian meats and fresh salads accompanied by wine, beer or juice, while taking in the spectacular desert sunset. As darkness falls, learn about the southern night sky and its constellations during a guided stargazing experience, enriched by fascinating Aboriginal stories and cultural insights.

Day 12: Ayers Rock (Uluru) and The Olgas (Kata Tjuta)

Today you will have activities included for sunrise and sunset, the best times to explore: Uluru Sunrise, Kata Tjuta & Walpa Gorge  – rise early and travel to Talinguru Nyakunytjaku, the sunrise viewing area and watch the first rays of sun light up the desert while enjoying a warming cup of tea or coffee. Then  travel to the mystical 36 domes of Kata Tjuta, enjoying panoramic views of the southern side of Kata Tjuta at a dune viewing platform before arriving at Walpa Gorge. Spend some time exploring the gorge and the unusual rock formations. The 1.3km walking trail through Walpa Gorge follows the natural creek between two of the tallest domes of Kata Tjuta. Return to the resort for some free time.

This afternoon, visit the Uluru- Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre and then travel around the base of Uluru to learn about sacred sites and features at Uluru including native flora, fauna and the culture of the Anangu (traditional owners). Continue to the Kuniya Walk where you will be guided to the beautiful Mutitjulu Waterhole. In the late afternoon, witness the striking colour changes of Uluru at sunset while enjoying sparkling wine.

Day 13: Ayers Rock – Cairns

This morning, experience acclaimed artist Bruce Munro’s Field of Light. Under cover of darkness, wander through 50,000 magical hand-crafted frosted glass spheres of light, in colours of ochre, deep violet, blue and white. Then make your way to the dune top where you will enjoy a warm drink and watch the sun rise in the distance behind Uluru, flooding the landscape with light, including Kata Tjuta behind you.

Fly from Ayers Rock to Cairns today.  Welcome to tropical northern Queensland,  on Australia’s northeast coast.  Check into your centrally located Cairns hotel where you will stay for 3 nights.

Days 14-15: Cairns

Cairns is the gateway to explore World Heritage listed areas of the Great Barrier Reef and ancient Daintree Rainforest.  There is much to see and do in the area, we have included the following excursions during your stay: Great Barrier Reef Cruise & Snorkel – experience the best of the Great Barrier Reef , travelling aboard the luxury superyacht Evolution. Visit two pristine reef locations in one day, with up to 5 hours to snorkel, relax and explore vibrant coral gardens and marine life. This excursion is great for first-time snorkellers and experienced ocean lovers.

Outback & Chillagoe Adventure – Journey into the Australian Outback on a full-day adventure, travelling through the Atherton Tablelands and remote countryside to the remarkable Chillagoe region. Explore a spectacular limestone cave on a guided tour, visit the historic Chillagoe Smelters, see ancient Aboriginal rock art, and enjoy lunch at a traditional Aussie pub. The day concludes at Granite Gorge, where you’ll have the opportunity to hand-feed rare Mareeba Rock Wallabies in their natural habitat.

Day 16: Depart Cairns  (Australia) – Canada

Your Australia adventure ends today.  Depart from Cairns, cross the international dateline again and arriving home the same day.

Day 16: Cairns (Australia) – Nadi (Fiji)

Bula! Welcome to Fiji.  On arrival, you will be transferred by shuttle from Nadi International Airport to your beach resort on the west coast of Viti Levu. The rest of your day is at your leisure.

Days 17-18: Fiji

Your beachfront resort is great for swimming, snorkelling and reef walks at low tide. This simple relaxed Fijian-style resort includes a warm welcome and views of the Mamanuca Islands surrounded by lush tropical gardens a short walk to Vuda Marina or a 15 min drive to Lautoka town. During your stay we have included an island day: in this package:  Malamala Island and Beach Club  – make your own way to Denarau Marina and take a short 30min boat ride to a small private island Malamala Island in the Mamanucas to enjoy time relaxing surrounded by crystal clear waters, white sand beaches and a resort style pool.

Day 19: Depart Nadi, Fiji

Depart Fiji today. You will be transferred by shuttle to Nadi Airport for your onward flight.
